Everything under the sun

With over 27,500 horticulture farms in Canada covering close to 1,000,000 total acres of land and producing over $5 billion in annual direct farm cash receipts, there is no doubt that horticulture farming is a valuable sector within Canadian agriculture having a direct positive impact on rural economies across the country and further positive impacts across industries as a whole. Currently there are over 120 different horticultural crops grown in Canada – from apples to zucchini, from British Columbia to Newfoundland.

The issues that CHC works on affect all crops and fruit and vegetable growers.  Due to the size of certain commodity industries, committees have been created to focus efforts on issues affecting those commodities specifically.  For more information on those particular industries click on the icons below.
