Part of CHC’s mandate is to affect federal policy in Ottawa. Our staff, board and committee members work with MPs and government representatives regularly on issues which affect Canadian horticulture, such as labour, plant protection and business risk management. CHC’s goal is to work with government to develop policy which aids the production of fruits and vegetables in Canada while also providing value to the government and people of Canada. Contact us so we can help.
The work done by CHC staff, board and committee members is only part of solution. Involvement by members and growers from across Canada has a huge impact on affecting government policy. By writing or visiting your local MP, or even writing a letter to your local newspaper, you are helping get our message heard – a Member of Parliament knowing that an issue is important to a constituent goes a long way to getting it resolved.
