Protecting plants, crops and the environment

The health of plants is of the highest importance to Canadian growers.  Issues such as pollinator health,  Spotted Wing Drosophila (SWD) and late blight are common concerns across all regions of the country.  Through proper use of pesticides growers are able to maximize yield while ensuring minimal impact to the environment and safe and high quality food for consumers.  The Crop Protection Advisory Committee (CPAC) supports the Crop, Plant Protection and the Environment Committee and is very active in working on these issues and more with CHC staff and federal government offices.
